Nova Scotia Education Week 2016

On Monday, April 18, 2016 teachers and education partners from across Nova Scotia gathered to celebrate Education Week, and to recognize their work.

Media Literacy: Critical thinking in a digital media world is the theme for Education Week 2016, and reflects the importance of media and digital literacy skills. These skills help us to understand, create and critically interpret print, screen-based and digital text. Students today are bombarded with media, and this year educators and education partners who support teaching students in becoming critical thinking, respectful, responsible and ethical digital citizens are being recognized.

The NSSBA was pleased to present Adam Davies of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board with an Education Week Partner Award. Mr. Davies has been a vocal supporter of technology integration in the classroom, and champions for critical thinking skills and responsible use of technology.
